DS3800XTFP1E1C in the GE Speedtronic Mark IV series are used to control and operate gas and steam turbines. Gas or steam turbines use large internal combustion engines to mix fuel and air to cause a contained explosion. This explosion creates a stream of gases under tremendous pressure, forcing them away from the engine, causing the turbines to spin at high speeds and produce large amounts of energy. The energy produced by the moving turbines is then harnessed and used for many other purposes.

DS3800XTFP1E1C is a fan-out card of the General Electric Mark IV Speedtronic series. There are eight red plastic rectangles on the fan card. Each rectangle has 12 circular ports. Rectangles are called logic gates. Logic gates allow a certain number of gate inputs to be connected directly without any additional wiring or interface circuitry.
